We are keen to host a visit from your school or group!
We are a 250 acre family farm situated in the beautiful Cotswold village of Sherborne, Gloucestershire, not far from Bourton on the Water. We are National Trust farm tenants on the Sherborne and Lodge Park estate.
We keep beef cattle, chickens for eggs, bees for honey and have an orchard and polytunnel for growing fruit and vegetable crops. Nature is at the heart of everything we do from the soil upwards and so we have a lot of wildlife, insects, wildflowers, trees, mammals and birds that also live and spend time at the farm. We are in Organic conversion and carrying out several nature restoration projects across the farm.
We love showing groups around the farm and we can cater for 30 children plus adults at a time.
We have picnic tables inside a barn for lunchtimes/undercover activities. We can cater for all ages and needs and are happy to adjust the schedule to fit in with what’s being learned in the curriculum, the needs of the group, ages, abilities etc. We can lead a farm walk, we can organise some activities and support you with your own curriculum based activities. We can even find a farm job to do for part of the day if that is what you want!
School pupils have been visiting us for years and we always have very positive feedback from them – the children are able to let off steam on the farm but also get in touch with nature (literally) and be totally immersed in a healthy environment.
We are fully insured, complete a detailed Risk Assessment for each visit, Laura is First Aid trained and both Matt and Laura are DBS (enhanced) checked.
Visits are free! We are funded by Defra to host educational visits so all we will ask is that you complete a short form for us. You would just need to arrange the travel.
If you are interested, please get in touch, we’re happy to answer any questions you might have or arrange a preliminary visit.
